Andrew Weir/The Bank Line offers an Around the World Service on the Gazellebank, Mahinabank, Tikeibank and Boularibank (formerly the Foylebank, Speybank, Arunbank and Teignbank). These ships will depart monthly from Dunkirk, France and voyages will terminate at either Hamburg, Germany or Antwerp, Belgium. Embarking passengers have the option of making their way independently to Dunkirk, or they may meet in London where Bank Line will arrange to bus them under the English Channel and deliver them directly to the vessel in Dunkirk. Duration about 110-120 days with port times ranging from 1 to 3 days.
These ships were constructed in Finland in 1983, and underwent conversion and refitting to suit the Bank Line in late 1995 and 1996. Passenger accommodations have been refurbished for a maximum of twelve, and are consistent with high Bank Line standards.
These versatile ships are multipurpose and capable of carrying conventional bulk and dry project cargo, vehicles with access via a roll-on, roll-off hatch, 20- and 40-foot containers and vegetable oil tanks. Bank Line will handle current trade volume as well as offer additional capacity for trade growth.
Passengers will be comfortable in four double suites and four single cabins. The double suites all consist of two rooms, a bedroom with twin beds and a living room. The singles are one room. All cabins offer private facilities with showers. Each cabin has its own VCR and TV monitor and refrigerator. Each cabin is equipped with an electric tea kettle and supplies for making coffee or tea. A short wave radio and hair dryer are furnished. The ships are fully air-conditioned.
Additionally, passengers have their own passenger lounge and share the officers' dining room. Also available to passengers are an indoor pool, sauna, and outdoor deck space. Passengers are able to walk entirely around the ship for exercise and to enjoy changing views and sunsets during the voyage. An elevator is available for use between accommodations and public spaces but passengers should be fit and able to use the stairs between decks. Senior officers will be mainly British with the remainder of the crew international. A dedicated purser will be onboard to facilitate the passenger operation. These sisterships are 565 feet in length and 18,627 GRT.

Rickmers-Linie, Hamburg is pleased to offer nine multipurpose vessels in its General Cargo Around the World service. The mv Rickmers Hamburg, Rickmers Singapore, Rickmers Tokyo, Rickmers Shanghai, Rickmers Dalian, Rickmers Seoul, Rickmers New Orleans, Rickmers Jakarta and Rickmers Antwerp can accommodate a maximum of 7 passengers each. The ships carry general cargo (breakbulk and project cargo) so port times should be good, about 1-3 days. The roundtrip duration is expected to be about 124 days. The ships sail on an itinerary that may vary according to cargo requirements. Freighter World Cruises visited the mv Rickmers Hamburg while she was in Long Beach on her maiden voyage, and found the cabins to be very pleasant. All were light and airy with warm dark wood furniture and attractive upholstery and carpeting. The steward provides weekly cabin cleaning. Although these vessels are sister ships, there will be slight differences in the layout of some of the cabins. The Captain and Chief Engineer are Polish/Croatian, and the remainder of the officers and crew, Filipino. Built in 2002-4, the vessels are 29,750 DWT, about 633 feet long (192.9 m), and German ownership/Marshall Islands registry. Age limit 75, may be extended to 79 with a good medical report. The duration of a voyage can vary; however, there will be no refunds made or additional payments collected unless the voyage lasts longer than 124 days. They are scheduled to sail around the world, but they are not on a set itinerary and the schedule can change after passengers embark, and ports can be canceled or added en route. Passengers must be very flexible with their arrangements and must be prepared to book a voyage not necessarily knowing which ports they will call. However, passengers should be rewarded with a wonderful trip to many interesting ports. There will be more time to explore these exotic destinations as port times should be longer than for fully containerized ships. Up to 3 days in port will not be unusual. However, waiting at anchor for a berth or off-loading onto barges while at anchor will also be possibilities.
* Plus an additional about $619 p/p (Euro 375 p/p) for port taxes and deviation insurance, plus an additional $12.50 p/p for U.S. Customs and Immigration fees for passengers disembarking in the U.S. The fares are established in Euros by the Shipping Line, and therefore must be paid to the Line in Euros by Freighter World Cruises. The estimated US$ fares are based on a currency exchange rate of Euro 1.00 to US$1.65. The final U.S. dollar fare will be based on the exchange rate at the time the currency is purchased. Any decrease in the final fare from that quoted above will be refunded, and any increase will be collected. |

| Pilot's Deck | There is plenty of deck space, both covered and uncovered, and a huge recreation area/room with a bar and full length windows on 2 sides, which would be excellent for viewing in wet weather. |
